Why choose AYME?
Our goal is to support you to learn, grow and embody your practice – whether you’re studying for your own personal development or to establish a career teaching Yoga. Here's what makes us different.
Yoga that's as individual as you are
Bodies come in all shapes and sizes and they don't all move in the same way. What's ideal for your yoga buddy might hurt you. So we help you develop a practice that suits you and your individual needs. We encourage you to let go of trying to achieve the perfect looking pose and instead explore what your body might need and how it feels. Because achieving the perfect pose - and looking hot in yoga pants - isn't nearly as important as what you learn on the way there. The journey is the point.
We combine ancient wisdom with modern science
Yoga has been practiced for over 2500 years. It has survived this long because it helps people to achieve peace of mind, feel more connected to themselves and others, gain control over their lives and make better decisions. Now, more than ever, we need it. We have more than we could possibly want and need, yet our physical and psychological health suffers. To help you experience the benefits of yoga, we've created a program that stays true to the original philosophy but we've updated the physical practice (Asanas) with what science has taught us about the human body and how it works. Because people shouldn't hurt themselves in their quest to achieve inner peace.
Flexible learning that fits into your life
We recognise that you're probably busy and fitting further study into your life might be challenging. And that kind of defeats the purpose of studying yoga! So we designed a course that allows you to study from the comfort of you own home with monthly face-to-face sessions in Collingwood, Melboune. Because we've found that while short, intensive courses have their place, fast-tracking personal growth in a bubble removed from real life doesn't usually work. Real change happens when we take our time, use real life as our classroom and integrate what we learn into our daily routines.
