+ What style of Yoga do you teach?
Our teachings are grounded in the Krishnamacharya tradition and built on the belief that yoga should fit the individual. As such, we don’t teach a particular style and instead teach you the foundations and fundamentals and encourage each student to find their own unique style. We welcome students from all lineages and beliefs.
+ Are you accredited?
AYME is registered with Yoga Australia, the peak body for Yoga in this country. Only courses approved by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) can use the term accredited. We chose not to accredit our 350hr training course because it became cost-prohibitive and there is currently no fee support for students.
+ Do you offer a payment plan?
Payment plans can be arranged on request. Please contact us directly for more information.
+ How much will I need to study at home?
It really depends on the subject but allow about 2-3 hours per face- to-face session. You will also be supported by the faculty through our online learning management system.
Teacher training can be a transformative process. We suggest allowing space in your life to reflect on, and integrate, what you’re learning.
+ What happens if I sign up for the 350hr course and then need to take a break?
We understand that life happens - whether it’s illness, family or work responsibilities things happen. If you need to take a break for some unforeseen reason, you can defer to the next intake.
+ Will I get teaching practice?
Yes! Once you’ve completed the Asana and Anatomy module on the 350hr training you and your fellow students will start to teach the Saturday & Sunday morning Hatha class. You’ll get plenty of practice before you graduate.
+ Can I teach in Australia and overseas once I’ve graduated?
Yes! You can start teaching straight away. We recommend all our graduates take out full Yoga Australia membership on completion of the course. This supports their teaching both locally and internationally.
+ What books do you recommend?
There are two books we suggest you purchase for the course:
- Teaching Yoga by Donna Farhi
- Liberating Isolation – Frans Moors
